LONGVIEW, Texas (December 30, 2020) – Axis Energy Services announced that Wendell Brooks will retire from his role as Chairman of the Board, effective December 31, 2020. Mr. Brooks served on the Board of Directors for Axis since its inception in 2015 and as CEO from 2015 to 2019. Board member Ryan Phillips will succeed Mr. Brooks as Chairman.

Dirk Lee, Axis President and CEO, said, “Wendell was instrumental in building Axis and led the development from its inception in 2015.  He provided the vision and drive that has led Axis to being a completion-focused and data-driven company. Axis is in a good place because of his leadership.  He also served as the ‘Chief Mentor’ to our executive team, inspiring me and many others to do our very best every day. I learned so much from him and it has been wonderful to have him as a mentor. I will always reflect back on all the ‘Notes from Wendell’ for advice.”

Mr. Brooks said, “I have had a wonderful career in my 43 years in the oil field.  I have had the opportunity to travel the world and work with so many talented people in our challenging industry. In particular, I have enjoyed the last five years where I had the opportunity to help start Axis Energy Services along with my partners, B29 Investments, Lime Rock Partners, and the exceptionally talented management team at Axis.  The vision for Axis was always to develop a multi-service line company focused on both people and technology, and I believe Axis is well on the road to establishing itself as a very special company.

Any success I have had has always been the result of the many talented people I have had the opportunity to work with over the years. I learned something from everyone I worked with and I want to thank all of those people who were so helpful and kind to me.  I’m looking forward to the next stage of my life and praying that 2021 will be much better than 2020 has been!”
